ABYSSAL INK

AI-generated goth rock & new wave soundscapes from the digital abyss

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Hi, I'm Fred Rosa – a failed musician who found redemption in the digital abyss. After years of making music the traditional way (check my past musical crimes if you're brave), I discovered AI music generation. But hold on, this isn't AI slop.

Every song starts with handwritten lyrics on paper. No AI-generated words here, just my twisted poetry. I created these tracks using UDIO (RIP, now part of UMG), mixing countless stems, adding my own guitar work (like that solo in "Pillars" from Goth Rock Compilation 1), and pouring my heart into every arrangement. Each track went through dozens of generations and the mixing of different stems to get it just right.

Is the sound perfect? Probably not. But I promise you'll hear the difference between this and throwaway AI content. This is goth rock and new wave inspired by the dark electronic sounds of the '80s, crafted with actual care and musicianship, just... with some algorithmic assistance. I'm also looking forward to create a band live experience around this music, blending AI visuals with live instruments and vocals to bring these digital dreams to life on stage.

Introvert Disco

"Today's postbag has given an album lush with nostalgia, electronic sleight-of-hand, and soaked in a shadowy romance. Abyssal Ink (aka Fred Rosa) delivers a striking thirteen-track odyssey that's honestly a bit of a vibe."

"In a world where the line between human and artificial blurs, Abyssal Ink emerges from Lisbon's sonic depths with 'Bumper Cars and Other Stories', an album that distills the essence of 80s goth new wave through a modern lens."
